When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Tostão Pires sped through Derrubada's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edmílson Travassos. When Tostão Pires came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Jacurutu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Pires couldn't finish the play. Guga Saraiva hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmílson Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacurutu AD's attentive Marcos Lago managed to snatch the ball when Júlio Dante made a throw-in in the 19th minute of the game. If Tostão Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Luís Brodel got free with Edmílson Travassos in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derrubada's Edmílson Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Pires in the 36th minute of play. Tostão Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tostão Pires took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edmílson Travassos. Edmílson Travassos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tostão Pires was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Derrubada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luís Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Travassos having to interfere. The Jacurutu AD fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Jacurutu AD's Tostão Pires looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 61st minute, Kléberson Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfredo de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Linhares having to interfere. Guga Saraiva hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When Jacurutu AD's Tostão Pires in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Edmílson Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Pires's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After a rather tough play, Jacurutu AD's Didi Brito got a free kick in the 85th minute. Cipriano Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aluísio Lima in the 90th minute of the match. Derrubada's Edmílson Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Carneiro in the 94th minute of play. Tostão Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Edmílson Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Jacurutu AD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
