Samuel de Alcântara was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Diamantino Brasil showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. After 36 played minutes Buique got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Tasso. 36 minutes into the match, PAYSANDU's Edmundo Miranda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Diamantino Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes Buique got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Tasso. Arthur de Amaral struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Samuel de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PAYSANDU. Buique's Samuel de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Brasil in the 44th minute of play. Diamantino Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel de Alcântara having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diamantino Brasil to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Gustavo Sergipano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PAYSANDU's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buique the free kick. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PAYSANDU! In the 67th minute, Arthur de Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ricardo Tasso fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buique's protests and gave Ricardo Tasso a yellow card for diving instead. Ricardo Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. When Arthur de Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the PAYSANDU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur de Amaral couldn't finish the play. If Diamantino Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the match, Diamantino Brasil notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Buique's Samuel de Alcântara. Samuel de Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diamantino Brasil in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simão Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duda França, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute, Buique's Ricardo Tasso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. In the 89th minute Duda França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute Diamantino Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel de Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diamantino Brasil went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score.
