Silverio's Sandro Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Silverio from getting a goal against them. Fabrício Albuquerque hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Juvenal Pitta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandro Azevedo having to make a save. Atlético São Jorge's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Silverio getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Vágner Maranhense hit a great ball. Léo Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Atlético São Jorge defense, Fábio Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Léo Paes. The Atlético São Jorge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Léo Paes should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Quintal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandro Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Tomás Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético São Jorge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Silverio's zone, Carlos Augusto Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandro Azevedo came out of the goal and Carlos Augusto Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the match, Atlético São Jorge's Carlos Augusto Donatello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sandro Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Silverio booed when Atlético São Jorge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauã Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juvenal Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Ramalho fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Silverio's protests and gave José Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Silverio getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. José Ramalho hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the game, Atlético São Jorge's Tomás Quintal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sandro Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Silverio! Carlos Augusto Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Sandro Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Azevedo having to interfere. Léo Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute, Cauã Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Ramalho in the 89th minute of play forced Atlético São Jorge's goalkeeper Léo Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 minutes of play, Atlético São Jorge's Tomás Quintal made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sandro Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atlético São Jorge were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
