But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Alberto Cardoso couldn't finish the play. After 15 minutes, Túlio Brodel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciriaco and the Baluarte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Ciriaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Brodel to maneuver through the defense. Cléberson Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Terra having to interfere. Manolo Maciel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Cléberson Quaresma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ciriaco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Cardoso in the 31st minute of play forced Ciriaco's goalkeeper Manolo Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Baluarte FC's Wilson Matos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manolo Maciel. That made the score 1-2 after 53 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cléberson Quaresma during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes Ciriaco got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson Quaresma. Carlos Alberto Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manolo Maciel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manolo Maciel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilson Matos in the 96th minute. The Baluarte FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
