Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Natanael Camargo kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind São Tiago Sport club's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Trevisan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Agostinho Custódio came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the São Tiago Sport club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agostinho Custódio couldn't finish the play. A collision led to São Tiago Sport club getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Otávio de Queiroz hit a great ball. After 10 minutes, Frédson da Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Sociedade America and the São Tiago Sport club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th match minute, União Sociedade America was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Natanael Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Agostinho Custódio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilson Arruda came out and tried to block the shot, but Agostinho Custódio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Daniel Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União Sociedade America's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Tiago Sport club the free kick. A collision led to União Sociedade America getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Daniel Chaves hit a great ball. When José Augusto Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Sociedade America's protests and gave José Augusto Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. União Sociedade America's Daniel Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute of the match, Natanael Camargo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Arruda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Natanael Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Agostinho Custódio came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the São Tiago Sport club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agostinho Custódio couldn't finish the play. The wind increased when Umberto Mazza made the kick off in the second half. Agostinho Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. União Sociedade America's Frédson da Cunha got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Frédson da Cunha off the ground. After a rather tough play, União Sociedade America's Frédson da Cunha got a free kick in the 54th minute. Wilson Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Gunnar Otterstad got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gunnar Otterstad might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodriguinho Trevisan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gunnar Otterstad ran back to his position shaking his head. Gunnar Otterstad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodriguinho Trevisan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Romeu Guimarães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Arruda was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 78th minute, Daniel Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, São Tiago Sport club's Agostinho Custódio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Arruda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. União Sociedade America's Wilson Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Custódio in the 84th minute of play. Agostinho Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Daniel Chaves made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho Trevisan. São Tiago Sport club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. União Sociedade America's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because São Tiago Sport club had won, even though União Sociedade America had held more of the ball.
