After 2 played minutes Marcondes AD got a freekick which was hit by William Peres. Andrézinho Quaresma didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Murillo França went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Adriano Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Lucas having to interfere. The nice shot from Jorge Arruda in the 19thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Acácio Lucas had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Jorge Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Acácio Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrézinho Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murillo França, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Murillo França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Andrézinho Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Sampaio to make the kick off. Adriano Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luiz Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the game, Laerte Silveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marcondes AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seleção Sucesso the free kick. Laerte Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Seleção Sucesso booed when Marcondes AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murillo França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrézinho Quaresma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. With a little luck, Marcondes AD's Andrézinho Quaresma got control of the ball when Pedro Luiz Vianna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Murillo França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Marcondes AD's zone, Pedro Luiz Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Quaresma came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Seleção Sucesso supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Seleção Sucesso would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
