A wasted opportunity for Pendotiba FC. 9 minutes into the game, Jorge Bueno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Young FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pendotiba FC the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Young FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Bueno to maneuver through the defense. Alexsandro Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Pendotiba FC's Leonardo Diniz got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Armandinho Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Pendotiba FC booed when Young FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Pendotiba FC's Gustavo Rodrigues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 33 minutes into the match, Pendotiba FC's Alexsandro Alvarenga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armandinho Freire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hernani Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Tostão Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tostão Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st minute, Tostão Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Jailson Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armandinho Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Joaquim Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Young FC's protests and gave Joaquim Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Young FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Joaquim Rocha hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Young FC's Andrézinho Pernambucano got a free kick in the 78th minute. Jailson Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Freire having to interfere. With a little luck, Young FC's Armandinho Freire got control of the ball when Caetano Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th match minute, Pendotiba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Alex Albuquerque stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Pombal's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. 97 minutes into the match, Andrézinho Pernambucano notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Pendotiba FC's Alex Albuquerque. Alex Albuquerque was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Pendotiba FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pendotiba FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
