After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Cilio Pujol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Naldo Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnaldo de Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cui Hong Song. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo de Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilton Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Foz Cataratas's Cui Hong Song played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Cavalcante in the 17th minute of play. Delfim Ramalho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Wilton Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Gomes having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Collatina SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Dennis Guerra missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 32 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Naldo Gomes right hand side. 34 minutes into the match, Wilton Viana notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Collatina SC's Naldo Gomes. Naldo Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 39 played minutes Foz Cataratas got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Martins. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiquinho Cavalcante was the one to do the kick off. Dennis Guerra was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Foz Cataratas booed when Collatina SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wilton Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Delfim Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Collatina SC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Adhemar Figueiredo hit a great ball. Cilio Pujol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. If Cilio Pujol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cilio Pujol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Naldo Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiquinho Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilton Viana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Naldo Gomes made a huge save. Collatina SC's Naldo Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cilio Pujol in the 93rd minute of play. With a little luck, Collatina SC's Naldo Gomes got control of the ball when Wilton Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Foz Cataratas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
