Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Manchester United's Duarte de Alcântara started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Galattasharay SC's Marcos Meireles got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute, Marcelinho Paraense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacinto Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Betinho Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galattasharay SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Betinho Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Galattasharay SC's Tiago Gabriel Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelinho Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Carvalho having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Galattasharay SC got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Meireles. 22 minutes into the game, Manchester United's Geovanni Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Paulo do Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 30th minute, Tiago Gabriel Soeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galattasharay SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. César Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Carvalho having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Duarte de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paulo do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enéas Souto's late challenge caught a Galattasharay SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enéas Souto helped the player get up and apologised. Enéas Souto hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Tiago Gabriel Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Jacinto Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galattasharay SC. When Dudu Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu Amaral couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Galattasharay SC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Soeiro hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Marcelinho Paraense made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Frederico Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 52 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Paraense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jacinto Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Dudu Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte de Alcântara in the 58th minute of play forced Galattasharay SC's goalkeeper Zé Paulo do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovanni Esteves might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Paulo do Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovanni Esteves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute Marcelinho Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dudu Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu Amaral couldn't finish the play. Zé Paulo do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Amaral in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of Galattasharay SC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, César Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Edinho Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Edinho Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Galattasharay SC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute Duarte de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dudu Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Zé Paulo do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Geovanni Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Amaral in the 86th minute of play forced Galattasharay SC's goalkeeper Zé Paulo do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tiago Gabriel Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galattasharay SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
