After having played for 5 minutes, Maurinho Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CACIQUE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurinho Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 10 minutes, Dino Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaraipos FC and the CACIQUE FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maurinho Rossi's late challenge caught a Guaraipos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurinho Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. Maurinho Rossi hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 15 minutes in the game, Chico Galvão dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Abelardo Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CACIQUE FC's Betinho Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. CACIQUE FC were furious when Geovani Vargas was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CACIQUE FC! After having played for 25 minutes, Maurinho Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 26 played minutes CACIQUE FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fernando Batista. Dário Trigo's late challenge caught a CACIQUE FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dário Trigo helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 played minutes Guaraipos FC got a freekick which was hit by Dário Trigo. Romeu Meireles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Hélio Varela made a huge save. After 39 played minutes Guaraipos FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano França. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maurinho Rossi was the one to do the kick off. Abelardo Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Lara having to interfere. If Maurinho Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guaraipos FC's Felipe Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Betinho Lara was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abelardo Antunes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. Luiz Fabiano França kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute of the match Jardel Mesquita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hélio Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 69th minute Abelardo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurinho Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Varela having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CACIQUE FC's Oscar Saldanha got a free kick in the 81st minute. Abelardo Antunes didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-3 via right post in the game's 84th minute. Guaraipos FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Murilo Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Varela having to interfere. Abelardo Antunes struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Betinho Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guaraipos FC. After a defensive mix-up in CACIQUE FC's zone, Abelardo Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Lara came out of the goal and Abelardo Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Abelardo Antunes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Guaraipos FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
