Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Alberto Duarte started the match with the kick off. Renan Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Espingarda SC's Valdemar de Queirós got a free kick in the 5th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Abelardo Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaraipos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renan Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the game, Carlos Eduardo Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espingarda SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guaraipos FC the free kick. A collision led to Espingarda SC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Carlos Eduardo Proença hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Carlos Alberto Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Guaraipos FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano França hit a great ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Felipe Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaraipos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Abelardo Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Guaraipos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Antunes couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Espingarda SC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Eduardo Proença. If Abelardo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Antunes in the 27th minute of play forced Espingarda SC's goalkeeper Renan Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Abelardo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renan Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Antunes in the 41st minute of the match. Felipe Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Renan Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Renan Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Antunes in the 55th minute of play. Felipe Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Renan Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cafu Hermes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Renan Araújo. Espingarda SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Espingarda SC defense, Abelardo Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renan Araújo. The Espingarda SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Araújo should have stopped the shot. Carlos Eduardo Proença was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Espingarda SC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Carlos Eduardo Proença hit a great ball. Abelardo Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Guaraipos FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
