Garibaldi RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cartoleiro FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Garibaldi RS's Matheus Faria got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes, Pedro Brodel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garibaldi RS and the Cartoleiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Pedro Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th match minute, Garibaldi RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Faria to maneuver through the defense. João Augusto Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Chicão Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Vargas in the 17th minute of play forced Cartoleiro FC's goalkeeper David Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matheus Mazza struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Chicão Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartoleiro FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Duarte in the 23rd minute of play forced Cartoleiro FC's goalkeeper David Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Cartoleiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Vargas came free, but David Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chicão Recife stood somewhat misplaced when Matheus Mazza came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 31 minute. David Negri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Cartoleiro FC's David Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Duarte in the 42nd minute of play. Matheus Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Garibaldi RS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

David Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Vargas in the 53rd minute of play. Cartoleiro FC's David Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Vargas in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Garibaldi RS's goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Reis came free, but Chicão Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matheus Mazza in the 78th minute of play forced Garibaldi RS's goalkeeper Chicão Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garibaldi RS's Chicão Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Lira in the 79th minute of play. Cartoleiro FC's David Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Faria in the 82nd minute of play. The Garibaldi RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Recife should have stopped the shot. After 93 minutes of play Garibaldi RS's Matheus Faria was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Cartoleiro FC booed when Garibaldi RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garibaldi RS's Chicão Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Vieira in the 96th minute of play.
