Celsinho do Vale took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilvan Campidelis. Campeche Futbol Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Telmo Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Anselmo de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute Raúl de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Delfim Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Campeche Futbol Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piau AD the free kick. Gilvan Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl de Toledo in the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Leonardo de Queirós sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmo de Godoi skillfully saved the ball. If Orlando Mumbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Raúl de Toledo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilvan Campidelis. Campeche Futbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raúl de Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Delfim Leal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Anselmo de Godoi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Leonardo de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo de Godoi having to interfere. Nico de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Piau AD's zone, Orlando Mumbach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo de Godoi came out of the goal and Orlando Mumbach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Doni Saraiva was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 39 minutes had been played. In the 41st minute of the match Nico de Sousa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilvan Campidelis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute Juvenal Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Piau AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Telmo Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piau AD's goalkeeper Anselmo de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 60 minutes, Delfim Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campeche Futbol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Campeche Futbol Club booed when Piau AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Campeche Futbol Club's Gilvan Campidelis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Campeche Futbol Club from getting a goal against them. In the 66thth minute of the game Telmo Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piau AD's Anselmo de Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Telmo Magalhães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Anselmo de Godoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Telmo Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl de Toledo in the 79th minute of the match. Campeche Futbol Club's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dadá Mota 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. In the 84th match minute, Campeche Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Piau AD booed when Campeche Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Mumbach didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Campeche Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl de Toledo came free, but Gilvan Campidelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Campeche Futbol Club supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Piau AD's performance. The match ended with a win for Piau AD.
