In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Blumenkranz's goalkeeper João Sergipano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Doni Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blumenkranz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SANTOS F.C the free kick. After 36 played minutes Blumenkranz got a freekick which was hit by Doni Amaral. In the 41st minute Robinho de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Branco in the 45th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Blumenkranz's Doni Amaral got a free kick in the 58th minute. Frank Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Penha in the 63rd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, SANTOS F.C's Robinho de Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
