Arlindo Diniz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sílvio Rosado's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matías do Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. When Doni Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Lider S FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doni Linhares couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodriguinho Teles during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th minute, Rodriguinho Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Taguaracu's zone, Edu Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Diniz came out of the goal and Edu Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mateus Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Taguaracu fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lider S FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
