The Ubanheira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Souza should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ubanheira's zone, Gláuber Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Souza came out of the goal and Gláuber Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklin Hoffmann got free with Richard Souza in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inácio Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ubanheira getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Michel Machado hit a great ball. Fausto de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Correia having to interfere. Adriano de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fausto de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th match minute, Buritizo AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Hoffmann to maneuver through the defense. Franklin Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Ubanheira's Eugênio Albuquerque couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Buritizo AD. Buritizo AD's Renato Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto de Sena in the 39th minute of play. If Inácio Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Richard Souza made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Inácio Cerezo sent off a good shot on target. Dino Arantes's late challenge caught a Ubanheira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Buritizo AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Arantes to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gláuber Bittencourt to make the kick off. Renato Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Buritizo AD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
