Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) C. R. Flamengo's Afonsinho Antunes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vágner Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Donato in the 8th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Mineiro in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusébio Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eusébio Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Mineiro in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Válbson Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thunder F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Mineiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes in the game, Claudinei Nascimento fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fabrício Rosa having to interfere. The C. R. Flamengo fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when C. R. Flamengo's Afonsinho Antunes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Afonsinho Antuness short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Fabrício Rosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 34th match minute, C. R. Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Dante to maneuver through the defense. Vágner Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of C. R. Flamengo booed when Thunder F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Claudinei Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vágner Donato to make the kick off. Afonsinho Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonsinho Antunes in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabrício Rosa saved Thunder F.C. from getting behind. Válbson Mineiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Eusébio Vergílio made a huge save. 66 minutes into the match, Thunder F.C.'s Válbson Mineiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusébio Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in C. R. Flamengo's zone, Vágner Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Vergílio came out of the goal and Vágner Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Claudinei Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. R. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Thunder F.C. getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Válbson Mineiro hit a great ball. With a little luck, C. R. Flamengo's Eusébio Vergílio got control of the ball when Válbson Mineiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Válbson Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Eusébio Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Válbson Mineiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thunder F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
