Bobbie Bobikov started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Oliveira Castro booed when E. C. Flamengo Paraibano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Luís Britto got free with Lech Pahucki in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Artur Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. João Carlos Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yunus Akbora hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The supporters of Oliveira Castro booed when E. C. Bobbie Bobikov shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oliveira Castro's goalkeeper João Carlos Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Valdir Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Valdir Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Valdir Pires had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lech Pahucki. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdir Pires was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Yunus Akbora got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Pires in the 82nd minute of play forced E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Lech Pahucki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lech Pahucki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 90 played minutes, Oliveira Castro's Romário de Moraes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lech Pahucki came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oliveira Castro reached it. After a rather tough play, Oliveira Castro's Valdir Pires got a free kick in the 91st minute. Pedro Luís Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lech Pahucki having to interfere.
