Nildo Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Sebastião Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Charles Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio CDHU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charles Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Pedro Paraibano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maicon Furlan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. When João Pedro Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Elite Alvinegro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro Paraibano couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Elite Alvinegro booed when Grêmio CDHU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Elite Alvinegro's goalkeeper Sebastião Alagoano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, João Pedro Paraibano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maicon Furlan, 1-0. Abel Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Furlan having to interfere. Sebastião Alagoano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Vides in the 29th minute of the match. If Charles Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Nildo Campidelis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastião Alagoano. Elite Alvinegro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Campidelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Vides in the 42nd minute of play forced Elite Alvinegro's goalkeeper Sebastião Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Campidelis in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Sebastião Alagoano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles Vides's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. The audience was convinced that Charles Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastião Alagoano was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Grêmio CDHU's Charles Vides ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sebastião Alagoano. Sebastião Alagoano was a little too slow when Charles Vides got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-3. The audience was convinced that Charles Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastião Alagoano was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. With a little luck, Elite Alvinegro's Sebastião Alagoano got control of the ball when Nildo Campidelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Charles Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nildo Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Grêmio CDHU left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Elite Alvinegro.
