But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho da Costa couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute of the match, Luiz Guilherme Nóbrega tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luiz Fernando Batista saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dênis Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Batista having to interfere. Luiz Guilherme Nóbrega scored 3-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fernando Batista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Uru SAF getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Doni Cavalcante hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serginho da Costa in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fernando Batista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Serginho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Escuta SC's Luiz Fernando Batista got control of the ball when Serginho da Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Doni Cavalcante notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Escuta SC's Luiz Fernando Batista. The supporters of Uru SAF booed when Escuta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fernando Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Nóbrega in the 94th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Escuta SC's Diamantino Viana got a free kick in the 95th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Uru SAF fully deserved thier win.
