The Piraguara SS fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Piraguara SS's Bruninho Leme looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Roger Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruninho Leme in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Célio Cavalcante, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 15 minutes, Bruninho Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piraguara SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruninho Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calanaque SC's Célio Cavalcante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Calanaque SC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Calanaque SC booed when Piraguara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Piraguara SS's Agostinho das Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Célio Cavalcante. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. After 25th play minutes Bruninho Leme shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Célio Cavalcante and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 31stth minute of the game Bruninho Leme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Calanaque SC's Célio Cavalcante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute, Edvaldo Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Daniel Guimarães fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piraguara SS's protests and gave Daniel Guimarães a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Guimarães hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 37thth minute of the game Lino Ramalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piraguara SS's Dênis Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Calanaque SC's Célio Cavalcante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Calanaque SC from getting a goal against them. 43 minutes into the match, Calanaque SC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Leme came free, but Célio Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio Cavalcante was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Bruninho Leme capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruninho Leme really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruninho Leme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Bruninho Leme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Cavalcante was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. If Agostinho das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Agostinho das Neves missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 61 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Célio Cavalcante right hand side. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Bruninho Leme put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Célio Cavalcante. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Leme in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Cavalcante saved Calanaque SC from getting behind. Luís Gustavo Tepedino hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Agostinho das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Márcio Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piraguara SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calanaque SC the free kick. The supporters of Calanaque SC booed when Piraguara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Leme in the 86th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bruninho Leme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Cavalcante was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Leme in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Cavalcante saved Calanaque SC from getting behind. 96 minutes into the match, Bruninho Leme notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Calanaque SC's Célio Cavalcante. Célio Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Piraguara SS had played much better football throughout.
