Ulysses Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 35 minutes into the match, Ulysses Quadros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Célio Monteiro, 1-1. Ulysses Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Célio Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulysses Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. Beto Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agenor Leal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Glauco Proença. ClubeX001's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Anísio Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varginha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulysses Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Monteiro having to interfere. Varginha's Célio Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Reis in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of ClubeX001 booed when Varginha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto Vinhas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Varginha's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Célio Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When Beto Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Varginha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto Vinhas couldn't finish the play. Varginha succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though ClubeX001 had controlled the match.
