After having played for 10 minutes, Niklas Österlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itamaraju's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niklas Österlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Crimea's Vicente Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niklas Österlund in the 13th minute of play. Gonçalo Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Naldo França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorival Neves hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute, Niklas Österlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itamaraju fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 26 played minutes Itamaraju got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando de Godoi. 28 minutes into the game, Aluísio de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crimea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itamaraju the free kick. The supporters of Itamaraju booed when Crimea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aluísio de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Österlund in the 38th minute of play forced Crimea's goalkeeper Vicente Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Lopes in the 41st minute of play forced Itamaraju's goalkeeper Naldo França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Niklas Österlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo França having to interfere.

Niklas Österlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 59 played minutes Itamaraju got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Neves. Alexandre Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Naldo França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niklas Österlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Christian Moraes's late challenge caught a Itamaraju's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. Christian Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of Crimea booed when Itamaraju was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alexandre Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Lopes in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Naldo França, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Niklas Österlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Vicente Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Itamaraju getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rony de Senna hit a great ball. When Niklas Österlund came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Itamaraju fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niklas Österlund couldn't finish the play.
