A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Alexandre Cardozo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valério Ferreira. Goias E. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Cardozo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 45th minute Vito Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Borala FC's Alexandre Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Goias E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vito Ortiz came free, but Valério Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valério Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Borala FC's Fernandão Dante got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Miranda in the 62nd minute of play forced Borala FC's goalkeeper Enrique Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Borala FC booed when Goias E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Goias E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vito Ortiz came free, but Valério Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Erivaldo Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Goias E. C.'s Júlio Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Vito Ortiz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valério Ferreira. That made the score 0-2 in the 71 minute of play. When Alexandre Cardozo got free in front of the goal in the 76th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Valério Ferreira was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Valério Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Fernandão Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Vito Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Borala FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Valério Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Saraiva in the 86th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Goias E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Barreto. Valério Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Ortiz in the 91st minute of play. Vito Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Ferreira having to interfere.
