Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Itaum's Rafinha Goiano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Goias E. C.'s Valério Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Capixaba in the 4th minute of play. After 6 minutes Goias E. C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ademar Toledo who took care of the corner kick. Goias E. C.'s Valério Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafinha Goiano in the 7th minute of play. Goias E. C.'s Zé Arósio suffered a concussion after 9 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademar Toledo during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Ademar Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júlio Miranda in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21stth minute of the game Nando Capixaba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goias E. C.'s Valério Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 25 played minutes Itaum got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Perez. Valério Ferreira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rafinha Goiano went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nando Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Ferreira having to interfere. Valério Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafinha Goiano in the 38th minute of the match. Rafinha Goiano took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valério Ferreira. Valério Ferreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mário Bertassi's late challenge caught a Itaum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mário Bertassi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Mário Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo de Salles was a little too slow when Júlio Miranda got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 1-2. After the first half Itaum were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valério Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nando Capixaba in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nando Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaum's supporters rose to their feet, but Nando Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valério Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valério Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafinha Goiano in the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Itaum's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Miranda came free, but Zé Paulo de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Capixaba got free with Valério Ferreira in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cláudio Romero's late challenge caught a Itaum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cláudio Romero helped the player get up and apologised. 71 minutes into the game, Júlio Miranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Zé Paulo de Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Júlio Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Itaum's Rafinha Goiano in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goias E. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. After 79 played minutes Goias E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei de Godoi. Rafinha Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Ferreira having to interfere. Cláudio Romero hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ademar Toledo, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Itaum's Nando Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Itaum left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Goias E. C..
