Carlos Fernando Furlan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Duda Romero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrício Teixeira was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Reynaldo Cerezo's late challenge caught a NIP F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reynaldo Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Reynaldo Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Vazea FC's Patrício Teixeira got control of the ball when Duda Romero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Cerezo got his second yellow card in the match during the 12th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Vazea FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Reynaldo Cerezo hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Duda Romero in the 14th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 15 minutes into the game, Willian Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vazea FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NIP F.C the free kick. In the 15th minute, Willian Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duda Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Patrício Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrício Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Romero in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in NIP F.C's zone, Willian Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Furlan came out of the goal and Willian Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Willian Vianna hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Duda Romero put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Patrício Teixeira. Duda Romero did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Patrício Teixeira 33 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Romário Maranhense sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Patrício Teixeira threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Romário Maranhense this time. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duda Romero in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patrício Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of NIP F.C booed when Vazea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duda Romero struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Patrício Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NIP F.C.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Duda Romero to strike the kick off in the second half. Aírton Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Patrício Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute Romário Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrício Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrício Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Romero in the 61st minute of play. In the 62ndth minute of the game Duda Romero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vazea FC's Patrício Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Falcão Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Furlan made a huge save. Falcão Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Furlan having to interfere. In the 72ndth minute of the game Duda Romero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vazea FC's Patrício Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Vazea FC's Falcão Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Fernando Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Duda Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 83 minutes, Percy Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NIP F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Pernambucano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Aírton Vides notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Vazea FC's Patrício Teixeira. Patrício Teixeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Falcão Barral took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Fernando Furlan. Carlos Fernando Furlan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3.
