In the 5th minute, one of Tupandi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tupandi. Olavo de Amorim shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Sandro Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álvaro Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Sandro Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Curicha's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Pinheiro came free, but Egídio Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Curicha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Túlio Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sandro Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Curicha getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Nico Dracena hit a great ball. A hard shot 62 in the game by Sandro Pinheiro from a close distance when the talented Egídio Batista managed to make a qualified save. Curicha's players were relieved. 65 minutes into the match, Tupandi's Sandro Pinheiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egídio Batista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Belmiro Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandro Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Egídio Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. That made the score 0-4 in the 77 minute of play. Álvaro Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egídio Batista having to make a save. Sandro Pinheiro came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Egídio Batista could save by the left post. Cássio Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Batista having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Túlio Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Belmiro Proença was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Tupandi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Curicha.
