When Álvaro Matos fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tupandi's protests and gave Álvaro Matos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Tupandi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Matos to maneuver through the defense. Severino Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Luís Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Verdadeiros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tupandi:s goal. The referee gave Tupandi a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luís Fernando Alcântara, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Verdadeiros's Sebastião Godoi. 1-0. Rafa de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Belmiro Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severino Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Proença having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tupandi's zone, Severino Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belmiro Proença came out of the goal and Severino Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Cearense in the 34th minute of play forced Verdadeiros's goalkeeper Sebastião Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severino Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Proença having to interfere. Sandro Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandro Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sebastião Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrézinho Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrézinho Cearense to make the kick off. Teodoro Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Severino Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Belmiro Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alessandro Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tupandi's zone, Edmílson de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belmiro Proença came out of the goal and Edmílson de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 played minutes Tupandi got a freekick which was hit by Luizão de Senna. If Severino Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Breckenfeld who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Belmiro Proença when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Tupandi getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Álvaro Matos hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Severino Breckenfeld notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tupandi's Belmiro Proença. Belmiro Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Tupandi getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Cássio Branco hit a great ball. Wellington Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Belmiro Proença read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 88th match minute, Tupandi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrézinho Cearense to maneuver through the defense. When Andrézinho Cearense got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Tupandi. Sebastião Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Pinheiro in the 95th minute of the match. Alessandro Silveira struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Belmiro Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdadeiros. Verdadeiros were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
