Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani da Cunha during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Giovani da Cunha hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Governador Sarney FC's goalkeeper Sidnei Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani da Cunha. In the 9th minute, Abelardo Freitas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ceara SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Daniel Teixeira took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel de Queirós. Manuel de Queirós dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Valdir das Neves put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel de Queirós. Manuel de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel de Queirós came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Governador Sarney FC's Daniel Teixeira. But to his dismay, Daniel Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Meirelles in the 36th minute of play forced Governador Sarney FC's goalkeeper Sidnei Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Urbano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ceara SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Governador Sarney FC the free kick. Ceara SS:s Manuel de Queirós showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Teixeira:s penalty. A collision led to Ceara SS getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Luís Fábio Urbano hit a great ball. After the first half Governador Sarney FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sidnei Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Porto in the 51st minute of play. If Valdir das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovani da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Valdir das Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel de Queirós having to make a save. Governador Sarney FC's Sidnei Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Porto in the 68th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Valdir das Neves put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel de Queirós. Manuel de Queirós made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Valdir das Neves sent off a good shot on target. Valdir das Nevess short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Manuel de Queirós to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 79th match minute, Governador Sarney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo Freitas to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Manuel de Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Governador Sarney FC's Valdir das Neves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 91st minute Raí Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdir das Neves scored 1-5 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Governador Sarney FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ceara SS throughout the match.
