Zé Carlos Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Jarbas Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Chuy AD's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Salles came free, but Wilson Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Salles in the 26th minute of the match. Wilson Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Zé Carlos Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Jaime Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jarbas Saraiva had several of the Chuy AD's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Wilson Gerber as he didn't even see the shot coming. Mário Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jarbas Saraiva in the 72nd minute. Dagoberto Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match.
