Haroldo Lira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joaquim do Vale. Evaristo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Moura in the 21st minute of the match. Adhemar Pombal struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Haroldo Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Queluz SC. In the 36th minute Adhemar Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Queluz SC's Felipe Pontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haroldo Lira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Haroldo Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adhemar Pombal in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Adhemar Pombal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Adelino de Amaral was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Iguacuzinho's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Adhemar Pombal took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Lira. Haroldo Lira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 66 minutes into the game, Adhemar Pombal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Haroldo Lira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 69 minutes, Adelino de Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iguacuzinho and the Queluz SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute Adhemar Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Adhemar Pombal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Haroldo Lira. Iguacuzinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adhemar Pombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Adhemar Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
