Waldemar Marquez's late challenge caught a Guiratinga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dadá Sergipano succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-4 in the 80th playminute. Jerônimo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fabiano Donatello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute, Cícero Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juvenal Valadares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-5. Luiz Fabiano Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magno Cabral in the 96th minute of play. The São Paulo F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing São Paulo F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
