Gerson Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Tião das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gerson Pena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelo Tróia's late challenge caught a Mataruca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Tróia helped the player get up and apologised. If Cristian do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Cristian do Vale struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gerson Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mataruca.
