Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jânio Mendonça made the kick off which started today's match. Duda Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Rafa Marques made a huge save. After 9 minutes of play, Palmas FC's Jânio Mendonça made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafa Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otávio Mazza in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Jânio Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Jânio Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Duarte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Samuel Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Cordeiro in the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Palmas FC's zone, Otávio Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafa Marques came out of the goal and Otávio Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Caveirão's Duda Senna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafa Marques. Rafa Marques yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 37th minute Sandro Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafa Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, Otávio Mazza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Marques. Palmas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otávio Mazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 48th minute, Otávio Mazza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafa Marques was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Breno Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caveirão's Samuel Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Cordeiro in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Palmas FC's zone, Otávio Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafa Marques came out of the goal and Otávio Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 61st minute, Frederico Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafa Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Palmas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diguinho Carneiro came free, but Rafa Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caveirão's Samuel Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Caveirão from getting a goal against them. If Rafael Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Otávio Mazza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Rafa Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 78 played minutes Caveirão got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Torres. Eduardo Mandrak, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rafa Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Diguinho Carneiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Marques. Palmas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diguinho Carneiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Samuel Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Cordeiro in the 92nd minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Breno Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caveirão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caveirão's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
