Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Reinaldo Arósio started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. João Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Tinoco in the 3rd minute of play. Prados SS's Edgard Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Arósio in the 5th minute of the match. Vágner Veiga hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The long shot by Edmundo Pinheiro in the 7th minute really tested Túlio Vaz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 16 minutes into the match, Prados SS's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo Arósio came free, but Túlio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Catu AD's Dito Queirós sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Túlio Vaz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Catu AD's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Paraense came free, but João Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Catu AD booed when Prados SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Catu AD's zone, Joaquim Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Koehler came out of the goal and Joaquim Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Mazinho Paraense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Koehler having to make a save. Túlio Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dito Queirós in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Catu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Tróia to maneuver through the defense. Cléberson Dionísio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Túlio Vaz. Prados SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Tinoco in the 66th minute of play forced Catu AD's goalkeeper João Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Juninho Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Tinoco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, João Koehler skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. João Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgard Varela in the 71st minute. 75 minutes into the match, Prados SS's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo Arósio came free, but Túlio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Dito Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catu AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Túlio Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. A collision led to Catu AD getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Juninho Falcão hit a great ball. In the 89thth minute of the game Joaquim Tinoco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catu AD's João Koehler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgard Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Koehler having to interfere. Prados SS's Túlio Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Arósio in the 91st minute of play. Túlio Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Queirós in the 96th minute of the match. The Catu AD support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
