In the 9th minute Felippe Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kiko Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Perivaldo Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Sousa in the 20th minute of play. If Narciso Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Uvaia EC's goalkeeper Perivaldo Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandrinho Duarte. In the 26th minute Felippe Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandrinho Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Perivaldo Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felippe Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Duarte lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Perivaldo Mendonça. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Narciso Cardozo in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kiko Schmidt saved Guarapuava from getting behind. Perivaldo Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 49th minute, when Sandrinho Duarte sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabrício Monteiro made a kick off. After some careless play in the Uvaia EC defense, Sandrinho Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Perivaldo Mendonça. The Uvaia EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Perivaldo Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Perivaldo Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felippe Sousa in the 59th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabrício Monteiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kiko Schmidt. That made the score 2-2 in the 61 minute of play. Narciso Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Kiko Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Carlos Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felippe Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Fernandinho Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kiko Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Cardozo in the 90th minute.
