In the 4th match minute, Anjos Da Noite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Baptista to maneuver through the defense. With 6 minutes on the clock, Robert Arboleda commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anjos Da Noite's goalkeeper Alan Ortiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Giuseppe Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualter Pombal in the 24th minute of the match. Alan Ortiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltazar Cruz in the 26th minute. Tomás Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Baltazar Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alan Ortiz was a little too slow when Gualter Pombal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 2-0. 45 minutes into the match, Anjos Da Noite's goalkeeper Alan Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Válbson Vale. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Gualter Pombal made the kick off in the second half. Gilson Furlan did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Cafu Martins 53 minutes into the match. Artur da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Anjos Da Noite's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Pombal came free, but Alan Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Cruz in the 61st minute of play forced Anjos Da Noite's goalkeeper Alan Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gualter Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Cruz do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualter Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Ortiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baltazar Cruz took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alan Ortiz. Alan Ortiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Gilson Furlan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Cafu Martins made a huge save. Anjos Da Noite were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Santa Cruz do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emanuel Gaur took the corner. Alan Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Eduardo Garcia's late challenge caught a Santa Cruz do Sul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Eduardo Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anjos Da Noite's Alan Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Cruz in the 88th minute of play. Gualter Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Santa Cruz do Sul players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
