Edvaldo Silveira started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Cafeara getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Zé Rodrigues hit a great ball. Tomás Cosme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reinaldo Furlan. Xandy FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Xandy FC's Reinaldo Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Silveira in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Xandy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Silveira came free, but Reinaldo Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvaldo Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Furlan having to interfere. Reinaldo Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Xandy FC's Josué Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelson Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josué Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Leme in the 44th minute of play forced Xandy FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvaldo Silveira in the 46th minute of play. After 47 played minutes Xandy FC got a freekick which was hit by Cauan Linhares. After the first half Cafeara were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Rodrigues kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reinaldo Furlan. That made the score 0-4 in the 52 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Pereira in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Zonta saved Cafeara from getting behind. Nelson Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Rômulo Pereira scored 1-4 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nelson Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sílvio Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nelson Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Josué Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruy Azevedo got free with Reinaldo Furlan in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
