After a defensive mix-up in Ossuna's zone, Nilson Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Guilherme Paulista came out of the goal and Nilson Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elite FC's Emílio Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Elite FC from getting a goal against them. After 21 minutes, Laerte Mineiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elite FC and the Ossuna players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ossuna booed when Elite FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Guilherme Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Nilson Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Luís Guilherme Paulista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elite FC. After having played for 34 minutes, Luiz Guilherme do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elite FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ossuna's Luís Guilherme Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme do Vale in the 42nd minute of play. Agnaldo de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Peixoto having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Elite FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, Ossuna's Adrianinho da Silva got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Emílio Peixoto. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agnaldo de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rafinha Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo de Souza in the 56th minute of play forced Elite FC's goalkeeper Emílio Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ossuna getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ronaldo da Silva hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Elite FC's Diogo Travassos got a free kick in the 60th minute. Ossuna's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
