The supporters of Iacanga EC booed when Oitavada EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglas Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Leonardo Donato fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iacanga EC's protests and gave Leonardo Donato a yellow card for diving instead. Leonardo Donato hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Oitavada EC's Váldson Hermes threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aírton Soeiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Váldson Hermes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horácio Lago went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aírton Soeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Váldson Hermes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aírton Soeiro went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With an all-out effort, Iacanga EC's Douglas Soares threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luisinho Loyola, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luisinho Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Soares having to interfere. With a little luck, Oitavada EC's Douglas Soares got control of the ball when Eliseu Maciel tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Eliseu Maciel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Iacanga EC's Eliseu Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Oitavada EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Iacanga EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
