Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Percival Vieira started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Apiaba SC's zone, Caetano de Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Guerra came out of the goal and Caetano de Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apiaba SC's Roberto Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bruninho Valladares fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apiaba SC's protests and gave Bruninho Valladares a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Apiaba SC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Bruninho Valladares hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, Boiao's Charles Alves broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Apiaba SC's zone, Caetano de Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boiao's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Charles Alves in the 15th minute. Charles Alves made a great header on Boiao's corner, it was just that Apiaba SC's Gil Guerra managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Apiaba SC's Geovânio Mazza got a free kick in the 16th minute. Lenílson Seco's late challenge caught a Boiao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lenílson Seco helped the player get up and apologised. 18 minutes into the game, one of Apiaba SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Boiao a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Charles Alves, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Apiaba SC's Gil Guerra. 0-1. If Reinaldo Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 played minutes Boiao got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Terra. Ernesto Favoretto, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Apiaba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Vieira came free, but Gil Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reinaldo Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Marcinho Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roberto Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcinho Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Pombal in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Ernesto Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caetano de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Gil Guerra made a huge save. In the 67th match minute, Boiao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Alves to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Saraiva in the 71st minute of play forced Boiao's goalkeeper Marcinho Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percival Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Guerra having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Jânio Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boiao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Boiao booed when Apiaba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano de Queirós got free with Gil Guerra in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roberto Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Luz having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Reinaldo Saraiva notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Boiao's Marcinho Luz. Marcinho Luz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the match, Roberto Pombal notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Boiao's Marcinho Luz. After a rather tough play, Apiaba SC's Bruninho Valladares got a free kick in the 95th minute. Percival Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boiao's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
