Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Claudinei de Toledo started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Cristiano Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 minutes, Geraldo da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oticica and the Anacetaba EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8thth minute of the game Claudinei de Toledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oticica's Juarês Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juarês Alcântara made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Claudinei de Toledo sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Anacetaba EC defense, Naldo da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almir Baiano. The Anacetaba EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almir Baiano should have stopped the shot. Almir Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Penha in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 26 minutes, Márcio Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oticica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Márcio Penha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Oticica's Juarês Alcântara got control of the ball when Enéas Arce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maurício Vides took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juarês Alcântara. Oticica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 36th minute, Enio Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo da Rocha hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Claudinei de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Alcântara having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Márcio Penha to make the kick off. Percy Santos made a great header on Oticica's corner, it was just that Anacetaba EC's Almir Baiano managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Claudinei de Toledo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Juarês Alcântara. After a rather tough play, Oticica's Márcio Penha got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Márcio Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juarês Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Naldo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Geraldo da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristiano Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Almir Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Enéas Arce came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Anacetaba EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Arce couldn't finish the play. Anacetaba EC's Enéas Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Zé Roberto Simão came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Oticica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Roberto Simão couldn't finish the play. Oticica's Márcio Penha was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 92nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The Oticica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Oticica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
