With a little luck, Marretas's Reynaldo Moreno got control of the ball when Perivaldo Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emerson Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo da Costa's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Luiz Paulo da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marretas's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Paulo da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emerson Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Perivaldo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davi Ceresso charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davi Ceresso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes Marretas got a freekick which was hit by Davi Ceresso. Perivaldo Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Reynaldo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Paulo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Emerson Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emerson Quirino came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Marretas's Eduardo Quirino. But to his dismay, Eduardo Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Reynaldo Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Emerson Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Jinipabu AD's Luiz Eduardo Carvalho got a free kick in the 44th minute. Emerson Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo da Costa in the 46th minute of play. The supporters of Marretas booed when Jinipabu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Paulo Perez to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Perivaldo Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jinipabu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luiz Paulo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Reynaldo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Eduardo Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Jinipabu AD's João Paulo Perez in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marretas's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Marretas's Tiaguinho Bueno got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When Eduardo Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Marretas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Quirino couldn't finish the play. After having played for 80 minutes, Perivaldo Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jinipabu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduardo Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Quirino having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Marretas's Luiz Paulo da Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emerson Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Paulo Perez in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reynaldo Moreno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. João Paulo Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Reynaldo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Moreno came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Jinipabu AD's João Paulo Perez. But to his dismay, João Paulo Perez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Emerson Quirino made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Tiaguinho Bueno sent off a good shot on target. Jinipabu AD's João Paulo Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marretas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
