Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Henrique Araújo got the match started through his kick off. Vivaldo Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfredo Coelho having to interfere. Nilton Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Manfredo Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vivaldo Gaspar was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Coitezeira's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 28 minutes, Nilton Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coitezeira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilton Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Coitezeira's zone, Henrique Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Carneiro came out of the goal and Henrique Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henrique Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Henrique Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umberto Meireles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juvenal Carneiro having to make a save. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coitezeira's goalkeeper Juvenal Carneiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Vivaldo Gaspar made the kick off in the second half. Coitezeira's Vivaldo Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Henrique Araújo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juvenal Carneiro was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After having played for 57 minutes, Henrique Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sergio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Umberto Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Carneiro having to interfere. Umberto Meireles took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juvenal Carneiro. Juvenal Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Manfredo Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Tasso in the 75th minute of play. If Henrique Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Carneiro having to interfere. The supporters of Coitezeira booed when Sergio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Coitezeira's Amílton da Rocha got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Coitezeira's zone, Umberto Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Carneiro came out of the goal and Umberto Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sergio eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
