Albertinho Leal started the match with the kick off. Albertinho Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute, Lenílson Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albertinho Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Capuava's Christiano Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Mendes in the 18th minute of play. Perdoes's Marco Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Perdoes from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Perdoes getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Roberto Mota hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Capuava:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Perdoes:s goal. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Perdoes. Hílton Paraibano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Christiano Linhares. 0-1. 35 minutes into the match, Perdoes's Rômulo Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christiano Linhares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Augusto Rossi during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute of the match Raimundo Pinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Toledo skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Rômulo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perdoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caetano Severo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roberto Mota's late challenge caught a Capuava's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Mota helped the player get up and apologised. Roberto Mota hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. If Caetano Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Caetano Severo came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Perdoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Severo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Paraibano in the 62nd minute of play forced Perdoes's goalkeeper Marco Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 played minutes Perdoes got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Mota. Caetano Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Linhares having to interfere. Rômulo Mendes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christiano Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After 82 minutes, Raimundo Pinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capuava and the Perdoes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raimundo Pinho hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 86 minutes in the game, Caetano Severo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christiano Linhares having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Perdoes's Christiano Linhares threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Caetano Severo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lenílson Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Marco Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lenílson Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Marco Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capuava. The Perdoes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
