The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Saraiva in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvério Gerber prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th match minute, Piata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldinho França to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Almeida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Leme came free, but Silvério Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duda de Alcântara was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Samuca Faria capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Samuca Faria really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Duda de Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arí Prestes in the 19th minute. The audience was convinced that Samuca Faria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duda de Alcântara was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arí Prestes got free with Duda de Alcântara in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 32 minutes into the match, Almeida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Leme came free, but Silvério Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almeida FC's Silvério Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Saraiva in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Samuca Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Piata. Osvaldinho França stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Silvério Gerber. 1-1. Jorge Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldinho França made a great header on Piata's corner, it was just that Almeida FC's Silvério Gerber managed to reach the ball for a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandro Leme made a kick off. Jorge Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piata's Jorge Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Leme in the 57th minute of play forced Almeida FC's goalkeeper Silvério Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Almeida FC's zone, Jorge Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvério Gerber came out of the goal and Jorge Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Piata booed when Almeida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Jorge Saraiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvério Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of Almeida FC booed when Piata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho França didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute of the match Dionísio Carioca shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Duda de Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Piata's Duda de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Faria in the 72nd minute of play. In the 77th minute, Osvaldinho França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the game, Samuca Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Almeida FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piata the free kick. The supporters of Piata booed when Almeida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuca Faria in the 80th minute of play forced Piata's goalkeeper Duda de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, Samuca Faria made a precise shot to the right of Duda de Alcântara. Piata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After 93 minutes of play, Almeida FC's Samuca Faria made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duda de Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Almeida FC had won after a very even match.
