In the 15th minute, Vágner Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Carlos Magalhães came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Marcacao SS's Luís Fabiano Donato. But to his dismay, Luís Fabiano Donato quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Erik Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Queirós having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fabiano Donato to make the kick off. Erik Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Jurubeba FC booed when Marcacao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vágner Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rubinho Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Marcacao SS's Rubinho Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Barros in the 82nd minute of play. Téo Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jurubeba FC's José Carlos Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Jurubeba FC from getting a goal against them.
