With a little luck, Engenhoca's Luisinho Santos got control of the ball when Cauã Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Engenhoca getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Francisco Hermes hit a great ball. José Rosado hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Francisco Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tiaguinho Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Engenhoca's Luisinho Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Donato in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Luís Fabiano Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marcacao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fabiano Donato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Fabiano Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisinho Santos having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Engenhoca got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Linhares. Luís Fabiano Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Marcacao SS defense, Tiaguinho Ortiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubinho Queirós. The Marcacao SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubinho Queirós should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiaguinho Ortiz was the one to do the kick off. Cauã Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cauã Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Marcacao SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cauã Arruda couldn't finish the play. Engenhoca's Luisinho Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Donato in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Francisco Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engenhoca's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Donato in the 65th minute of play forced Engenhoca's goalkeeper Luisinho Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tiaguinho Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With splendid footwork Tiaguinho Ortiz arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-2 by the left pole in the game's 70th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiaguinho Ortiz during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tiaguinho Ortiz hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Francisco Hermes's late challenge caught a Marcacao SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Hermes got free with Rubinho Queirós in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Engenhoca's zone, Luís Fabiano Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisinho Santos came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
