When Rony Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cego's protests and gave Rony Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Catavento booed when Cego was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiano Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lúcio Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Cristóvão Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Dinei Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Cego fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dinei Velasco should have stopped the shot. Franklin França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Velasco having to interfere. Cristóvão Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Catavento booed when Cego was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franklin França was the one to do the kick off. Benjamim Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Catavento's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cego the free kick. After a rather tough play, Catavento's Percy de Andrade got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Franklin França struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Dinei Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catavento. 86 minutes into the match, Catavento's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamim Hermes came free, but Fabiano Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Catavento defense, Bruno dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabiano Vasconcelos. The Catavento fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabiano Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. When Benjamim Linares came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Cego fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamim Linares couldn't finish the play. Benjamim Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Vasconcelos having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cego had played much better football throughout.
