The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rafael Prestes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rafael Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Célio Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remo Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Antunes having to interfere. The supporters of Arame booed when Laudja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tostão Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 29th minute Célio Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tostão Antunes made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Caio Diniz sent off a good shot on target. Remo Arruda was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Arame's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With an all-out effort, Arame's Tostão Antunes threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Remo Arruda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 37th minute Ezequiel Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Laudja FC's Célio Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ezequiel Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remo Arruda was the one to do the kick off. Tostão Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Arruda in the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remo Arruda in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tostão Antunes saved Laudja FC from getting behind. Remo Arruda scored 1-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tostão Antunes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Haroldo Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Tostão Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo Arruda in the 87th minute of play. Laudja FC's Ezequiel Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tostão Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caio Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Laudja FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
